This format offers the highest quality and the pixels containing raw as purchased (usually 36 to 48 bits / pixel) your files are larger very large file, though, generally use compression.
- Applications format (common use made of it):
Assurance in a warm image higher than the JPG, offering greater clarity / focus, better contrast, better lighting, colors appear best represented (the picture shows as the camera sensor captured.) Contains much more information and it will be manipulated to adjust lights and colors. Files are read-only.
-application that can open and edit a file in this format:
Adobe Camera Raw. Adobe Photoshop CS2 and CS3 contain extensive support for RAW in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. In addition, the Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Live can see any raw image format if WIC codecs are installed.
